I am a director.
I take a work that I see so clearly in my head and I invite people in to help develop that image that the show presented. My direction is all about details and motion. I choreograph the transition of stories in a way that pushes the feeling of the tone we want to bring forth. I draw tension and fluidity with the right balance of an image. But for the intimate moments that we share in the rehearsal room...there are lots of intimate moments that you may or may not see on stage. I offer little things that inform so much. A huge part of my direction is about the process and not the product. I want to ensure a safe and inviting space for everyone. I open up a room for people to explore themselves in relationship to the characters that are placed before us.
